7.12.25 - GETTING SCAMMED TWICE (attempted)

So while I was in Bosnia, I had a little adventure that almost ended in me getting scammed on the tranvaj (trolley bus).
I went to Ilidža to meet up with Nadi, Mejid, and Irfan so we could all head into Sarajevo together. I had just gotten to Bosnia a few days prior, so I only had a 50-mark bill on me (no smaller change). I also had no idea how much a ticket actually cost, but I figured I’d be nice and pay for all four of us.

The tranvaj pulls up and I hand the conductor my 50 marks. He gives me back my “change” and right away I notice teh change feels light in my hands lol. We sit down, and I start looking at the receipt. Each ticket costs 2.20 marks, so four tickets should’ve been 8.80 marks total. That means I should’ve gotten 41.20 marks back right???
WRONG. THIS DUDE ONLY GAVE ME 12 MARKS.
So Irfan and I get up and tell the conductor, and he starts acting clueless. He was saying I only gave him 20 marks… After some back and forth, he finally returns my money. I count it again…and guess what? I’M STILL MISSING 10 MARKS. LOL. At this point, Irfan goes back up to him like HEYYY this still isnt right. FINALLY, the conductor gives me the rest of my change. It took two tries, but I walked away with all my marks back.
Honestly, it was annoying in the moment, but now it’s funny to think about. The night didn’t end there either. We still ended up meeting up with Irfan and Nedim and still had a really fun time in Sarajevo.
Moral of the story: always double-check your change in Bosnia and never ever trust these fuck ass conductors.
